Vegas! 1/5-1/8
This weekend, I managed to escape the gray cold days of Milwaukee for the sunny cold nights of southern Nevada. Before I could reach Las Vegas, I had a heck of a day of traveling on 1/5, when my initial flight was delayed hours due to some mechanical issue that the airline could not resolve and failed to take the necessary steps in expediting a backup plane to take weary travelers. This forced me to miss not just one but two connecting flights. Eventually, I arrived in the desert just before midnight.
To go over my travels more in depth, I have decided to try something new and write a “Birding Report” on my expedition. I visited Henderson Bird Viewing Reserve, Lake Mead, Desert NWR, and Death Valley NP! I hope you enjoy :)
In case you were wondering if my return flight home was any better, it wasn’t. The pilots arrived behind schedule to direct the plane to Minneapolis, so I wound up missing that connection and had to stay overnight in Eagen. I finally came home Tuesday morning.
This goes to show that birding demands I roll with the punches!
